When circumcision is done there is at least 10,000 nerve endings amputated. The body tries to repair the damage by the process of peripheral nerve regeneration, however, the body cannot regrow the missing nerve endings. Through this process, 10,000 nerve receptors regrow and connect to the remaining inner foreskin as an attempt to compensate for the damage. This means the inner foreskin should have at least 10,000 nerve endings.
There seems to be research into neuro-thearpy on lab rats.

AbstractPeripheral neuropathy is nerve conduction disruption that occurs outside of the central nervous system. It usually presents with sensory derangements, the most debilitating of which is pain in the extremities. Conventional therapies have limited success in preventing or reversing symptoms of neuropathic pain and numbness. In the past decade there has been a surge in publications suggesting acetyl-L-carnitine (ALC) may be an effective neuroprotectant and antinociceptive for peripheral neuropathy.-
