OzVic started a blog post 11 months since last beach photo. Still couple of years tugging to go!
Hot weather when standing still reveals not enough skin.
If an estimated 60% is cut off like in my case, this means x2.5 to get back to where one should be, noting the ridge band would make coverage more reliable.
Yes you are correct about the measurement method, but I find the skin unreliable to measure small amounts of progress.
So I combine manual tugging, inflation, elastic band type tuger and tap tugging with 1.25Kg for a couple of hours each day to keep the skin motivated to grow.
Funny tape and minor tension at the beginning.
It was a long rewarding journey to double the skin, but another 50mm seems it could take any where from 2 years to over 4 years..
I will get there, but in my case it certainly was the tortoise not the hare, maybe it would have been faster if I had restored in my teens.
Some say it speeds up towards the end of the restoration process, however I'm finding it seems the skin knows it's the same original amount dividing ?
One would think skin would stretch easier than growing, but stretching only reverses I find in a couple days of rest,.
What remains is actual growth that have been triggered and rebuilds it's thickness back to normal.
Amazing what inflated balloons surgeons use to grow skin, but ours takes a decade or more.
Cheers,
OzVic
I'm very new to all of this.
I find the restoration process to be both comforting and bewildering at the same same time.
I appreciate your pointing out this phenomenon. I thought it was just me (or simply part of aging). I'm 47.
I'm very pleased to learn from your story that the length will return in flaccid state over time.
I've been working on it for about 3.5 years now.
You should continue to bring up this point because it was both exciting and Terrifying to me when I started to see and feel a difference. I loved the coverage but was confused why I looked smaller when soft. You helped me tremendously. I love the fact that I am covered now, but I miss the length that I used to have. I'm glad your length was restored over time. I will hope for the same.
