  • Current understading of fastest restore?

At the beginning of 2017, what is believed to be the best / fastest method to restore?

In the 1990s, manual and film canisters were king.
In the 2000s, devices were big and 'tug all the time'.
Now it seems to be more about cyclic tension.

I realize this is probably going to become a flame war, and may god have mercy on our souls. But this question is bigger than all of that.

What's the current understanding of fastest restoration?

If you feel a less quick way is better, why?
Saying someone is "Unmutilated" is like saying "Unsweet Tea". So you mean it's just Tea, in its natural state, that nobody has screwed up? It can't be Un- anything

There is no one best way. Everyone's skin and needs are different. To find what works best for you takes some time and experimentation. For myself, I have found that several 30-40 minute sessions throughout the day work best. I just cant comfortably wear a device for 4 hours even with no tension. Cyclic tension if you will. The off periods allow bloodflow to carry oxygen and nutrients back to the skin. Tugging 24/7 is counter productive. Your skin needs time to recover and grow. A good diet and staying hydrated aso well as not using tobacco are also key. Nothing messes with your skin more than tobacco. Plus it's just not good for you at all.

IDK and so do anybody. What I do is tug as much as I can except when sleeping. I use inflation most most the times. When not tugging I used a packer to train the skin and retain.

The usual motto you will hear here is "constant gentle tension". No matter what method you are planning to use make sure it does not hurt and fits well to your life-style.

You've really just asked the perennial newbie question, with a little bit of window dressing on it. It would be better to ask: "What is your understanding of fastest restore, for you". Then members could post that, wild claims et al, and there'd be no "flame war".

In other words nobody would be trying to impress the (knowledgeable) natives with an attempt at THE "universalway" (as has been done in the recent past). Don't fall for that. That kind of nonsense is what starts replies to the wild claims, ignorant of basic human physiology.

The two replies above did in fact answer have the wisdom to answer in the personal sense. Parsec told you what he does, and made a couple of good points when he referred to what is generally assumed (by all of us) to be true. He did this via an attempt to transfer what is known in research. And Nomad did also, and told you that nobody really knows the answer to the question you asked, which is the reasonable answer to that ol' newbie question. Good replies overall, smart and effective taking over of the reins. Deserves recognition.

And god has nothing to do with any of this. All it takes is education and some modicum of honesty and forum altruism.
