  • Question for Ron

There seems to be differing opinions about duration of tugging. At present I am tugging with the TLC around 12 hours a day and retaining the rest with some manual tugging thrown in during bathroom breaks. Do you advocate this schedule 7 days a week? I'd appreciate any input.

tugging is a long term gentle process, as much as you can fit in, without hurting yourself is probably ok.
one member of this site took complete breaks over the summer and still has progressed.
The more consistent you can be, the faster you will see results. I figure I have been working on it for twenty years, almost, with a lot of off periods. Still see growth though, and after being very inconsistent for awhile have made better efforts.
    Tug, tug, tug.

I started out aiming for 24/7 tension (when I was taping and it was emotionally painful to remove a tape job that was still holding comfortably), but I now advocate wearing tension 50% of the time, about 70+ hours per week, and wearing the skin retained over the glans whenever not tugging. This is based on the fact that it is doable and seems to work for a lot of guys.

I'm told there is a biologically plausible reason that incorporating periods of non-tension might actually improve the growth rate, having to do with cells needing ample circulation of nutrient-rich blood to keep dividing.

Thanks so much for the advice. Would the time wearing the retaining cone be considered non-tension time?

I'd argue for 20/7 tension (yes 20/7) though varying levels of tension through the day, then allowing yourself a few hours break at some point to allow for other ummmm activities.
