  • Just started researching this topic, have some questions

Hi, I'm an 18 year old, turning 19 in a month or so. I was cut at birth, and quite frankly hate that I had been born in america because of out stupid practices.

Needless to say, I want my foreskin back, unfortunately, I've got a bit of a dilemma.

For one, I'm not of huge length, maybe 5in fully erect. While not erect, my penis is pretty much hidden, probably somewhat due to being overweight.

Second, I have a tendency to pop boners often, what can I do? If I have very little slack to begin with, and essentially none while erect, what is the best course of action?

Thank you all for your advice!

Your best course of action is to tug. Restore. None of what you describe should prevent tugging, you just need to get started and sort out what works best for you. So how to get started?

The typical go to methods for starting out are cross taping and manual. Cross taping is simply applying tape across your opening, so that the tape holds your skin over your glans, and forms a cross. Easy, almost no risk of injury, and it gets you used to tugging. Not enough skin to cover your glans? No worries, add a small piece of tape to make an non-sticky portion where the sticky part goes over your glans. Manual is even easier. simply grasp your skin and pull away from your body.

Cross taping will only be effective for a little while, so you will need to move onto other taping methods. That is because in order to grow skin, we need to apply tension, and cross taping will only provide much tension in the beginning, when the skin is very short. Think of cross training as riding a bike with training wheels. Nice and safe, but you won't go very far.

There are other methods if you have enough skin, but beginners typically do not have that much skin, so must wait before using devices and inflation. There are many methods ot restore, if you look around this forum, and google various methods, you will find a bunch of information.

The most important consideration in choosing a method is whether it fits into your lifestyle and if you are engaged with it, it appeals to you. this is because restoration won't work unless you do it, almost daily, so you need something you are willing to do daily, like brushing your teeth.

As far as triggering the skin to grow, the most important aspect is sorting out how much tension works for you. Many can effectively grow skin with very little time spent doing that. for example, I use inflation currently, and only need to apply tension 20 minutes, twice a day. I suspect that I could do a lot less, but that 20 minutes is so convenient (I tug while eating breakfast and dinner) that I have no incentive to figure out the lower limit. But you may need to experiment a bit to figure out what works best for you.

Having a short penis, or one that is hidden are probably not major issues, as long as you can figure out how to tug effectively and will keep it up. If you can masturbate you can manipulate your penis enough tug, I would think. I suggest you give it a try and see how it goes, then ask more questions as needed.

    Regards

Thanks for the detailed and quick response! I decided to try the canister method, but with a twist. Instead of being rigid, I used a piece of heatshrink tubing. This way there is plenty of flex. I haven't even cut the tube to length yet or ordered some mefix tape, but I have been able to stretch whats left of my foreskin onto the outside of the tube and tape it in place, and I am holding tension with a rubber band as we speak. I am just using office tape for now to see if I could even do it, and I think the answer is yes!

Now, I need to figure out how to keep tension without using my hand, and how to make it work while sleeping... Any idea when I'll see a noticable improvement if I wear it 8-12 hours a day? How many ounces of tension is recommended?

You are welcome, glad to help. I did not mention the pill tube method specifically, as I tend to think of it as one of the tape methods. I actually started with that method, right after cross taping, but did not stick with it for long. But it is a good method, just be careful of letting the pill tube get pushed too far to the side by accident, as that can increase tension dramatically on one side, and result in a skin tear, which is what caused me to change methods. But it is a nice easy way to apply tape, so it sounds like you are thinking things through and off to a great start.

There are many ways to keep tension on. Straps are frequently used. All that is needed is some way to easily attach the strap to the end of the pill tube. Frequently a couple holes are drilled into the end of the tube, and a wire, like one form a binder clip is used. Then the strap gets attached to that. Here are some links that will provide some ideas:

You can also use packing, inside the canister, rather than a strap. that is how I used it actually.

As far as the amount of tension, you will likely need to experiment. I can tell you that for me, the amount of tension is enough to feel like I have reached my skins elastic limit, and any more will dramatically increase the chance of injury. But it does not hurt. It feels a bit uncomfortable at first, but in a few moments, I can forget I have anything on.

I suggest starting with a bit less than that, until you get used to it. After you feel comfortable doing it, then try whatever amount of tension you have settled on for a month. See how that goes, most importantly, do you think you are making progress? If so keep doing that. If not, add a little more tension and do the new tension for a month.

I would caution about doing any tugging while sleeping. When you are asleep, you have nocturnal erections. These can cause a dramatic increase in tension, leading to injury. Plus, you are moving around, causing the pill tube to get pushed around, which could increase tension as well. If you are comfortable with that risk, then try it while awake at first. Get the tension in place, get dressed for bed, and get under your covers. then give yourself several good hard erections. Roll around. roll around with erections. Do it for a half hour or so. All OK? Then give it a go for real, but I would go lower on tension the first time, just to be extra safe. You would probably be surprised what you actually do while you sleep.

My experience is there is no need to wear it for long periods of time. I am having the best progress of my restoration doing 20 minutes, twice a day. Time under tension seems to me to be largely irrelevant. Get the tension right, and make the time convenient. Remember, all we are doing is triggering skin to grow. Trigger the cells and then wait for them to do their thing. Any tension applied after they get triggered is not doing anything. Think of growing plants. Water, then wait for the plant to grow.

One nice feature of the canister is that when you are not applying tension, it serves as a good retainer, or protector for comfort, so you do not have to remove it in between tension applications. Just leave it on and go about you business without tension. You can even pee through it, so it is very convenient.

Regarding removing tape, I can give you a few tips. the longer you wear it, the easier it is to remove. If you soak it with water, it is easier to remove. I tended to wear my tape for 24 hours, then take my morning shower, then remove my tape. Far easier that way. when I wanted to remove the tape sooner, I let my penis and tape soak for a minute or so in warm water, before trying to remove the tape.

Last, "roll your skin off the tape" rather than pull the tape off your skin. Sounds silly and like it would not make much difference, but it does. Much easier and more comfortable that way. And go slowly, which also helps.

When you will see progress depends on how effective you are at doing this. As I said, time is not the key variable for me, the amount of tension is. You could make great progress from the beginning, if you get the tension right by happenstance, or it may take you a bit of experimenting. I would argue that taking the time to sort out what tension works best for you to grow skin will have the greatest benefit. Then it is just a matter of tugging until it looks the way you want. think it terms of years, not months. But you will see and feel improvements in a few months.

Alright so perhaps tension while I watch youtube before I go to bed, as this should be enough time to trigger growth? Then you said you wore your tape for 24 hours? I'm a little confused, sorry, I'm really new to this topic...

So I should leave my canister type device on all the time? What benefit does that serve? My heatshrink tubing appears to be working like it did in the tlc tugger video, except that its not fully rigid, which I don't see any downsides to...

Sorry for the confusion, I understand why. What I am saying is that tape is not so easy to remove, but you do not have to have tension on the whole time it is in place. For example, when I was taping, this is how I did it:

            http://www.restoringforeskin.org/ima...llustrated.pdf

Note that while I had the tape on 24 hours, I only had tension applied 3-6 hours. If I were still doing that today, I would be doing 20 minutes, twice a day, and just leave the tape in place the remainder of the 24 hrs. So yes, tugging while you watch youtube is fine and should work well.

It is your choice as to whether you keep the tape on beyond the time you apply tension, but I expect you will find it is less hassle to do that. But some men remove the tape after tugging. They tend to be using long time periods of tension, like all day long or more. But if you want to be free, then simply remove the tape after each tugging session. The only benefit is convenience, unless you want to gain sensitivity sooner than it will occur form growing skin. Many men do want that, and they either leave the tape (and tube if using the pill tube method) n and fasten it to keep covered, often also applying skin creams etc, or they use some other way of retaining, like a baby bottle nipple.

I do no think the flexibility of the shrink tubing will be an issue. I also cannot say how safe it is for long term contact against you skin. But most things people use, like old film canisters, pill bottles, plastic pipe, are not necessarily safe either. You could check the manufacturer's website and see if they post a materials safety sheet if you are concerned. But I am drifting...

            Hope that helped clarify.

Just start tugging...the final product will look different than what you have now. Got some slack skin going an then rotate between a device and manual stretching. Also, put "progress" out of your mind for a year or so. Do your daily tugs and go about your business, accomplishing your goals.

In about two years...you'll be in the promised land.
