  • Some questions about TLC-X use

    Hello everyone,

I have been restoring for 1 month now with TLC-X and i have some questions about it.

    - How do i know that im using enought tension?

    - I have the TLC selects but I dont really know what is the fuction of it or how to use it in a proper way.

    - I should only use inner tension or should I alternate with external?

    Thanks in advace,
    Alfonso

I think this is easier to gauge if you started your restoration with manual tugging, so that you're familiar with how the different levels of tension feel on your skin...but generally, I would say if it's a little uncomfortable for the first two or three minutes, then subsides, it's probably good tension. You definitely don't want to feel discomfort the entire time you're wearing the device.

I have the TLC selects but I dont really know what is the fuction of it or how to use it in a proper way.
These are to lengthen the pusher as you grow more skin, so that you're not pushing your head so far into your body that it disappears If/when your skin is able to roll up past the pusher when putting it on, switch to the longer rod, and add the 3mm select. Then as you grow even more, the 6mm...and on and on.

I should only use inner tension or should I alternate with external?
The TLC-X tensions both inner and outer skin simultaneously. But in case that's not actually your question - most people tend to say tension both, unless you're wanting to work on a specific spot (like evening out a crooked circumcision scar).

Be real careful about how much inner tension you use with the pusher. It is possible to irritate or even tear your inner skin as it's very delicate. err on the lighter side until you have figured out the correct amount. For external tugging tension, right around a pound is all that is needed, no more. You should be able to wear the device for 3.5-4 hours before you need a break.

I suggest you follow the 4-Hour Rule protocol: http://tlctugger.com/4-hour-rule You will know your tension setting is productive when you compare your monthly or quarterly Forced Erect Coverage http://tlctugger.com/forced-erect-coverage/ readings to your initial FEC reading.

Use those to fine-tune the length of the device as you gain slack. You can calculate a Future Flaccid Roll-over Point (See FFRP spreadsheet attached) or just use this rule of thumb: If you roll your skin up onto the device and it tickles the Collet, lengthen the device with the TLC Selects.

It's nearly impossible to not get some of each, but you emphasize inner or outer if you like. I recommend adding as much overall slack as you can by tugging inner and outer evenly. Every bit of slack you add will improve your skin tube's ability to cover and be manipulated over the glans.
