  • Wearing the Device Correctly and What Is Next

    Hello everyone!

I have been restoring for six months now. I am definitely noticing progress (even though measuring the FEC can be quite difficult and not always consistent), but I found that I have changed some methods of how I restored from when I began. I want to share some of these thoughts with you as well as get some opinions.

So essentially, I clean my device (TLC-X) twice a day; one in the morning, and one at night. I used to clean the device many times throughout the day, but at this point, I just put it on in the morning and wear it throughout the day. I got pretty tired of having to clean it every single time that I went to the bathroom. Sometimes paper towels break apart too easily or leave a residue, or something is too wet, or you get an erection from trying to put the thing on again and again. It's always one thing or another. Instead, if I have to urinate, I'll take off the device, urinate, and then just put it on again without cleaning it. I find that it doesn't stick as well as it would if I cleaned it, but it still holds on quite well and I have no fear that it will fall off. What do you guys think of this?

I do find that if I wear the device literally ALL day, it tends to slip to one side by the end of the day. So there may be more grip of the skin on the left side than the right side. This happens on occasion, but not always. However, I do think about how this affects my progress. Thoughts?

    -----------------------

Another thing that I was thinking about is regarding pushing in the rod of the TLC-X all the way. I usually put the device on by placing it right on my shaft and rolling the skin over it. Then, I put the clear cup on top of it and push the rod in ALL the way. However, when I push the rod in all the way, some of the skin lifts up from the total surface area where it was previously holding, so all the concentration is totally on the tip. This may be pointless, and I want to get some ideas about this. Does this mean that I'm not ready to push the rod all the way in? Is it better to get less of an intense tugging session if it means you're getting more surface area?

Last thing is that I found a little bit of a different way to tug with the TLC-X. I put the device on the shaft, and then I stretch and tug the skin all around it before covering it with the skin. Then after I cover it with the clear cone and push the rod in all the way, I find that it gets a much more "in-there" tugging session. However, if you push in the rod all the way like me, your shaft might hurt a little when you take off the device.

All comments and suggestions are welcome. Thank you!

The reason it's slipping is because you are not cleaning it. Try using isopropyl alcohol and just wipe it down prior to putting it back on.

If you clean it with isopropyl alcohol, won't that potentially burn your shaft?

No, it evaporates very fast and leaves no residue.

I only clean my TLC-X once a day (with basic dish soap), but I don't have very oily skin either. Dabbing and getting every last drop of urine out does wonders for avoiding odors and gripping problems too.

If I am understanding you correctly, I also always apply the TLC-X using your second method - although I use the TLC-X with spring + spacers so it's necessary to apply that way. Best tug, in my opinion, is TLC-X + spacers + internal spring + strap for external tension. You get dual tension and tugging simultaneously. I do that for about 5 hours a day and direct air with a HyperRestore for maybe another 8 hours or so.

Putting tension on one area of your shaft skin has no effect at all, other than causing some shaft skin cells to divide at a rate higher than the normal replacement rate, roughly in that area, but it won't mean that the tube you make with your fingers from loose shaft skin will be anything other than a temporary tube with a more or less even leading edge. And that's it.

If you only tugged on one "side" of your shaft skin for the rest of your life you wouldn't find anything but additional loose skin bunching up on your shaft, which you would make a temporary tube from. Tugging doesn't make a tube, YOU do when you roll it down over your corona and glans. This whole thing is essentially self correcting. A lot of guys can't mentally visualize this, but that doesn't matter; just keep tugging and it will all work out in your favor.

So do you just carry isopropyl alcohol and just wipe it off after you use the restroom?

Are there any wipes that also work well for both the device and penis?

No, don't use it on your skin, just the device. You can get pre packaged wipes in a little packet at any pbarmacy or supermarket. You can keep a few of those in your pocket. For home use, just get a bottle of it and use small pieces of paper towels. That should be enough, but I always get my best application of the day in the morning after a shower when my skin is squeaky clean. During the day it shouldn't be a problem as long as you shower every day.

I'll have to try it man. Thank you for the suggestion.

Hey so I am writing as a response of using isopropyl alcohol to clean my device. I have to give you MAJOR props. Using it has helped my tugging sessions become much more reliable and efficient! The device actually stays on much better, and is less oily over time. Thank you so much for this wonderful suggestion.

No problemo dude! That's why we're here, to help one another get to the common goal. If you want it to really stay on, try the rubber grommet.

Mind pointing me in the direction so I can see how to use the rubber grommet? Also, where to get it?

                          Hey guys,
I have been using Cascade dish detergent to clean my TLC X. I just got my replacement TLCX in the mail thinking that the old device was the issue, but now its slipping again after a month. is the isopropyl alcohol a better route? I have notice that it has gotten worse when the weather started to get warmer. This has resulted in shaft diameter being larger. Any thoughts?

                          Thanks,
                          The Wonderer

Cascade, the machine detergent? I just use plain old dish detergent/soap without issues. Isopropyl alcohol is worth a shot too. Make sure you own skin is as clean and dry as you can get it as well.

Sorry for the terribly late response. Isopropyl alcohol is pretty much a must. Try this: get a nice sized bottle of isopropyl alcohol and get a jar of q-tips. Just dip one end of the q-tip in the bottle and then wipe off the inside of the retaining cone a couple of times. You'll find that tugging is so much better with this method. Also, I tend to always clean the outside skin of my penis with a little bit of soap just so it's fresh and will hold better with the cleaned retaining cone. I found this to be extraordinarily useful. You can also use method to clean your device in general. If it gets (god forbid) grimy, you can always do a thorough job by using isopropyl alcohol to clean it. I do this on occasion just to mask any smells and kill any bacteria that may be on the device.
