The RC style retaining cone has an opening that's 13mm wide to work best by itself or with a Tugger or Hanger or Packer. The RCX cone opening is 17mm which is just wide enough to clear the TLC-X Collet and Handle without a lot of effort. For any user whose cone is 40mm wide or more, the RC opening probably provides no advantage. I like the RC cone when retaining because it keeps all my skin from poking out the opening.

Tuguser here, at first the ‘my skin cone’ (for TLC-X) was too uncomfortable for me to wear, so I substituted a nipple top for a month. This got me to a point where I have more slack skin to go over the tugger body, and when I retried the ‘my skin cone’, it worked like a charm. I do find, however, that I must pull the ‘cone’ as far down the tugger body as possible, in order to get a good seal against my own skin and the tugger body. Otherwise, the cone will lift and separate. I am curious about the other RC ‘cone’ which was mentioned earlier in this thread. It seems it may offer a better hold or grip than the TLC-X.

I've been testing some new weights. I'm using them with the TLC-X. I am recalling (since I actually restored only until 2006) that I get a much more comfortable application that stays comfortable longer and that lets me cover more of the white tugger body, by applying a tiny smear of lotion on the underside edge of the Pusher. This seems to let my skin slip into place without binding uncomfortably. Obviously too much lotion and you're done - you'd need to remove, wash, and re-apply.

For anyone experiencing slipping issues, I came up with a trick that I highly recommend.

You’ll need to purchase an RC your skin cone (it’s the one that comes with the standard tlc tugger, as opposed to the Tlcx’s RCX cone).

Instead of applying the cone by sliding it down onto your skin, you first put the cone on the device, flip the bottom half up, pull your skin onto the tugger, and flip the cone back down.

Tje narrower and longer cone grips more of the skin and grips it tighter.

The difference in grip is night and day, I REALLY have to be twisting and turning and climbing and bending a lot for it to even begin to slip. Don’t think I’d ever use tlcx cone again.

I have a thread in the tlc tugger section for more explanation.

Don’t mean to thread jack or tug my own horn here, I just want to help as many people as I can with this information and save anyone the frustration of having their tlcx slip

I too prefer the over the shoulder form. My only challenge now is to loose more belly fat or find looser fitting shorts/pants. I’m a CI2, but found the your skin cone retainer was pinching my bunched up skin sandwiched between it and the side of the TLC-X tugger, so I used a baby bottle’s nipple top which has a flared mid section. This seems to not hurt so much. It also has an inward ring design at the base which really holds my skin in place while I’m tugging. The only draw back is that without the ‘my skin retainer cone’ design which lays more flat against the TLC-X tugger, wearing the device this way does not promote a more puckered tip. I’m guessing that once I’ve gotten to CI4 -5, then I’ll be able to go back to the retainer cone because I’ll have more slack skin and be able to smoothen it out better. Hopefully, it won’t be as painful as trying to wear it at this stage. For now, I’m just trying to as much skin growth as I can.

I don’t think it needs a lot of tension. Just steady gentle tension will do. It may not seem like it’s tuggibg but I think it’s enough. I’m wearing it at work as we speak. But I have the old school tugger with strap but I realized over the shoulder works best for me. I rarely have my penis pop out of the cone, and I feel the tug without the ultimate pain. It will take a long tome. Plus my shirts and shorts/ jeans hide the strap and cone really well. No one has noticed I’m wearing it...

You have to have some over hang (loose skin) to use the TLC-X with collet, spring or rubber bands. You might just want to use it as a tugger with a strap around your knee until you get enough loose skin to use as a dual action tugger. I have over hang and still use a strap when using the spring or rubber bands, it just helps keep tension on the device.
I'm not sure how much cleaner I could be. I am using the collet. I have enough overhang, I'm CI3 and can comfortably press in the entire small push rod.

It's hard to tell, I haven't worn it at work yet. Ive been experiementing around the house and it only fell off once while I was squatting really low for something. I think I'm guna do the high tension for 2 hours for two sessions during the week to minimize the amount of time risking it coming lose.

Just got my tlcx in the mail! And wow is it way more comfortable than my pill bottle and nipple device! Thanks Ron for the excellent fitment. I was worried the retainer cone would be too large but with some lotion it seems to hold well. Although I am definitely going to do the grommet trick to keep it safely secure because I wear briefs for medical reasons. (Balls hanging for too long gives me epididymis pain)
