Lost Threads From Old Board

I think that some of you here from the old board might remember the thread by the Australian father whose twin sons were restoring.

But, of course, since the link in my last post was from a lost thread of the old board, all clicking on it does is bring one to this board.

Did the Aussie father use the name Dasher?

It seems to me that fairly recently, within the past year or two, the father did post an update, years after his original thread, that his sons had to stop their FR efforts following some mishap, possibly a car wreck.

I've done a net search of the this new board, and have been unable to find that post, so it must have been on the old board, although not too long before it became defunct.

Anyone else remember it?

Yes, you are referring to "Dragons". He is a member here on the new one. Just search up his user name. I have talked to him a bit recently and they were in an awful car wreck. They all got banged up pretty badly and one of his sons ended up with a severed spinal cord at about his waist. Shoot him a PM, he's a really nice guy and I'm sure he would appreciate any support we can offer.

Thanks for the post, parsecskin. Dragons and Dasher sound similar and during the time that both were probably members on Ron's board, and possibly on Tally's board, also, I found that remembering which was which was difficult.

I will send him my well-wishes in a PM. Nice that you have been in communication with him.

If these pages still exist on the way back machine website, shouldn't there be a way to bring all the archived pages back into the forums?

We could arrange a project to restore SOME of the old content in an orderly way, and if there are costs I'm good for it. But the whole forum database was a multi-gigabyte file of inter-related tables, and what the WayBack Machine has is a tiny sub-set of html pages as they appeared at a certain time. Some of it's really good, especially the outpourings of grief and the Press Citations.

Ron, thanks for the posts. I will, whenever I feel like doing it, continue to surf the old board with the Way Back Machine, and tell what I find of interest here on this thread.
