  • FLOPL: foreskin measuring system (less arbitrary)

I came across this method for measuring foreskin in this online book: http://iomfats.org/resources/restori...toring_faq.pdf

    --------------------------------------
    Excerpt below
    --------------------------------------

Measuring — I recommend using Daniel Jarrett’s measuring system. His system is: “you make a dot with a pen about halfway down your shaft [the center line of your t-tape can also serve this purpose] — you then measure the distance from this dot, when the skin is gently pulled taut (back towards the body) from the back of the corona at the top of the shaft, and write this measurement down. Next — again pull the skin gently taut — this time away from your body, and measure the distance from the base or abdominal wall where God stuck your penis on! :-) to the dot. Now add these two measurements together and viola! — you have your shaft skin length.”
    --------------------------------------
    --------------------------------------

I'm about 5 months in and I measure 16 cm of total penis length (pubic bone to flacid stretched tip of penis, measured on top of penis)
    .
    .

As for total foreskin length, I do basically the same measurement, with the dot. And I measure from the pubic bone to the stretched dot... Then I add from the stretched dot to the tip of the penis (I use the tip instead of the corona since that is the length that needs to be covered) . For me that is 17.5 cm
    .
    .

Out of all the measuring systems, this one seems the most straight forward.
    .
    .

I was hoping either an intact man or a restored man with full erect coverage could measure the same way and include both lengths. (The length of the penis and the length of the foreskin)... This way we could have a rough proportional estimate of how much additional foreskin is needed for full erect coverage. And we could mark progress that way.... (Also if anyone else is curious and does the measurements, please comment and include your other CI measures.)

    .
    .

As for other measurements, I'm a CI 3 or an RCI 4

    .
    .

And I'm at 109% [17.5/16] FLOPL (foreskin length over penis length) ... I just made that up.. (Hope that's okay Dan

(I also posted this on reddit: https://www.reddit.com/r/foreskin_re...y_dan_jarrett/)

A FLOPL of 100% is the absolute minimum, because there would be no slack in the foreskin at all. Therefore there would be no difference in total penis length and total foreskin length. Using this method you can't have a total foreskin length less then total penis length.

Ha! That name (IOMFATS) brings back memories; this all goes way back. I've always wondered about it because it didn't seem to address the fact that the "foreskin" referred to is shaft skin, and you need to double it over into a tube when you have enough to do that.

This tugging thing takes so long, year after year, that I guess if someone gets bored enough (and they probably will) then this (or any other method) could be tried from time to time. Why not.

Really, though, once you are down the road a distance, and you've seen some results, then you realize that there are really only two measurements that are important: full flaccid coverage, as a basic goal, and anything past that, that you choose to go on tugging for. If you think about it, it isn't measuring that causes you to go on, it's just hardcore endurance, week after week, year after year, and the reason for that is that everything before those two measurements, which are made with your eyes, not some dot on a stretchy tissue, or pulling that stretchy tissue from 'here' to 'there', can be deceptive. Sometimes it looks like you've gained, and sometimes ... it looks like you're at a standstill, or even lost ground, all of which may or may not be true at any point in time that you measure.

I understand wanting "results", and you've hit the head of the issue with realizing that "less arbitrary" is a problem in measuring. Wanting, is why we all start. I've always suggested just tug, and be happy for fatter and fatter wrinkles of shaft skin. Measuring those wrinkles is actually impossible, but they are the real visible and tangible evidence that your shaft skin is adding to itself, and they're the proof that things are working. I think sometimes there can be a little anxiety about that, along with the boredom, so ... "measuring" is tried. But measuring as proof is only indirect and conceptual, not necessarily actual (certainly not actual in the short term). Just endure, and virtually everyone will get what it was they hoped for, but much more importantly, endured for.

That be my opinion on measuring as "proof".

This has got to be one of the most well-put things I've ever read on the subject:

"If you think about it, it isn't measuring that causes you to go on, it's just hahrdcore endurance, week after week, year after year, and the reason for that is that everything before those two measurements, which are made with your eyes, not some dot on a stretchy tissue, or pulling that stretchy tissue from 'here' to 'there', can be deceptive. Sometimes it looks like you've gained, and sometimes ... it looks like you're at a standstill, or even lost ground, all of which may or may not be true at any point in time that you measure."

Sounds interesting, I measured for a few consecuitive months just using a caliper and I saw a few (up to 6) mm of gained skin a month.

            Thanks. I do try : )

People are of course free to do what they want, and if they aren't concerned with point-by-point accuracy (or any sort of short term accuracy, really) then there've been a couple of ways to try over the years, the above being one of them. I just wouldn't want some individual stressing over the situation because they believed there is anything like short term accuracy. Skin is a biological tissue, after all, not some synthetic stuff that always responds to an external manufacturing technique. For us it's all internal; skin does what it does by responding internally, on its own, when it "wants" to.

But even then, if stressing over accuracy turns out to feel better than the boredom of tugging, from time to time, then anyone can go for it; stress away, you'll get over it : )

Here is a status update (I periodically restore hard for a month or 2 then take a break for a month or 2... I'm starting to notice real progress.. and it's encouraging me to go even harder or more consistently (I used the DTR... now I still do.. but I find manual tugging more gratifying)

Basically the FLOPL system is super easy:

Take your dick length... from pubic bone to tip... (you can be soft... jut pull)

For me that is 16 centimeters

              This is "dick base length"

Next we want to know how much skin we have...... I make 1 or 2 dots on my dick in pen... and I stretch the skin taught... I Measure from the same base of pubic bone to the same tip... but the skin needs to be taught the whole time... I add together all the measurements (base to dot1, dot 1 to dot2, dot2 to tip)

For me right now (07-04-2017) that's 19 centimeters

              This is "dick skin length"

Next measure your corona for me it's 3.5 centimeters

              This is "dick head length"

To have enough skin to cover the corona (over and back)... and also cover the dick you need

"dick skin length" = 2*"dick head length" + "dick base length"

For me that is a total of
              23=16+2*3.5

Assuming everyone starts with at least
"dick skin length" = "dick base length", here is how you can tell how restored you are:

              ("dick skin length"-"dick base length")
              /
              (2*"dick head length")

              For me that is:

              7-04-2017
              (19-16)/7 or 3/7 or 42.8% restored

              Here are my previous measurements

              [approx 5 months]
              5/5/2016
              (17.5-16)/7 or 1.5/7 or 21.4% restored

              [approx 6.5 months]
              6/17/2016
              (18-16)/7 or 2/7 or 28.5% restored

              [approx 16.5 months]
              (I took breaks)
              7/4/2017
              (19-16)/7 or 3/7 or 42.8% restored

I'm very pleased so far... and surprised...

it's odd to actually have measurable progress... I really like this method... I'm still CI 3... and I think it's because I have more inner skin than outer skin.. and it just bunches and doesn't roll over yet...

That's why I've been manually stretching that shaft shin... the DTR doesn't seem to do that as well...

Plus it also makes sense why some people see a huge jump of progress once they hit CI 4... they already had built up so much inner skin... and it was "hiding" or not being used haha...

              So yes...

Maybe 2 more years.... we'll see... I'll keep posting here in some fashion... sporadically...

I encourage anyone to keep track of their own progress, it feels cool to measure

              ...

2 years I guess is hopeful... because I've shown 1cm in a year... and I have 4 more cm to go... so maybe growth accelerates with more skin available for mitosis... or perhaps I wasn't really going as consistently as I could have been... or maybe now using the manual method too instead of only relying on the DTR...

so 2-4 years more at this rate... either way... super cool

Im 35 now, and by 40 I should have that coverage... hope hope hope...

It's a long journey... and I've been so pleased with the results so far
