  • Foreskin Restoration (Skin Tear)

Hello all. I wanted to post this here to see if anyone else has had a similar effect happen while restoring. Some background I have been restoring for a little over 3 years. The first two years I used the TLC Tugger when I started to notice this crack in the skin occurring. I figured maybe it was the device the so I switched over to the DTR, but it still does not seem to be going away. Any advise on this?

Should I take a break? Maybe switch to just manual tugging for a bit. I will typically restore for about 2-3 hours a day and try to manual tug with a 6 minute routing I came up with.

Looks like too much tension to me. Ease up a little on your tension with your DTR and maybe try to take a few days off from tugging so your skin can heal.

Yeah for sure. I think it's easy to get a too aggressive as we all have our goals in mind and sometimes we get frustrated. Been stuck around CI3 / CI4 range for quite a while.

Take a break wile you heal and ease back on tension a bit. I’ve gotten theses sorts of injuries from too much tension a few times. They heal quickly. I’ve come to the understanding that too much tension doesn’t speed things up - especially when you need to take breaks to heal. 😀

Sounds good. Will do and I appreciate the response.

Yep, definitely take a break from tugging until completely healed. Once resumed, then back off the tension to re aclimate your skin, then gradually increase but pay close attention to your skin and comfort level. I had similar tears caused when I felt pain but wasn’t able to excuse myself from work in order to remove my device. As a result of leaving it on too long I ended up having to take a break for 2-3 weeks plus.

Damn. I don't wear it at work right now but have in the past. Will definitely let this heal and ease my way back into things. Thanks.

When you hurt yourself in this way, it is best to stop for a while to allow the wound to heal. Look for and correct the context that brought you this problem. Are you putting too much tension, is your coverage index high enough to use DTR?

Never thought about this aspect. I used to moisturize everyday but have toned that down quite a bit. Will keep that in mind for sure going forward. I wonder what other thoughts are on this? Do people moisturize after restoring each time? Do you keep it to a few times a week?

I stopped and let myself heal and am back to restoring. The injury has healed and does not appear to be coming back.

Ended up taking about a month off to let things heal. Been using the DTR for over a year now. Initially I was using the TLC Tugger device. Right now I would say I am around a RCI-4. Trying to get over the "Hump". Been kind of worried about applying too much pressure as I do not want to create another injury.

I too use the DTR now to me i have alot more comfort with this device the TLC always seemed to give me pinching issues and skin tearing .ive said in a different post thats its probably user error, maybe i just couldnt grasp entirely the tension aspect of it but things are going very rapidly with the DTR, i have much more control over the tension in my opinion and as much as i got used to the strap not having to use the strap is a relief to me . With the DTR i have noticed that there is a certain tightness level of your inner foreskin u can feel and i keep it as taut as possible without causing pain.

Regarding moisturizer, before I had enough foreskin to remain covered without a retainer, I masturbated a lot using virgin coconut oil. I always washed it off before using a device. No matter how much water you run over it there will always be some oil left. For me, that was enough moisturizer. If my device was slipping off I would clean both the device and my foreskin (inner and outer with an alcohol prep pad. That usually solved the slipping. I have come to know how much tension I can tolerate and keep my device on for most of the day (6 to 12 hours). Now, the only time I have to remove and place it back on is when I can feel a slight pinching caused by a wrinkle under the skin cone (doesn't matter which device). I now pay very close attention to removing wrinkles and now very rarely have to reset the device. Best of luck staying out of the penis penalty box! KOT
