  • What is/was your circumcision style?

I can imagine that if you were circumcised in a certain way, it will take you a longer time to restore. I added the most commonly used terms to describe different styles. Maybe, when you respond you could also tell us where you live. I am curious to see if styles differ a lot per country (I've heard they do, but want to see if it is similar for the people on this forum).

I guess if I had to vote as well, I think mine would be closest to Low & Tight.

First generation Canadian dad was born in England and his father was circumcised slightly before the influence of the English doctors made it uncommon there. For a few twists of fate and a couple years I might have avoided it all together. I was the minority being circumcised in school and most others I knew in my area at the time were not. I was cut HIGH And LOOSE though and I can cover my inner foreskin almost down to the base of my penis. This has actually made restoring much more difficult but with more sensitive material the end result will hopefully be better.

High and tight. New York (state). Whoever the fuck that cut me also removed half my frenulum to make the scar line not a full even circumference, but a curve up toward the head to match the curve of my head. Still pissed off at my parents for doing it to me because their "god" told them to (not Jewish or Muslim, want to make the clear distinction).

Anyway, on a more positive note, KOT gentlemen!

Can someone define "high vs low" and "tight vs loose"? I'm having a hard time categorizing my cut based on these dichotomies. Pics would be useful.

The term high vs low is kind of backwards. A low cut has the scar closer to the corona. A high cut has it further down the shaft, leaving more inner mucosa. Tight vs loose is pretty much explanatory. If there was such a thing as a "best" cut style, it would be high and loose.

                Thanks for trying to explain.

It's been so long since I started my restoration that I don't recall what my cut looked like way back then. If I just go by the location of my circ scar with the foreskin pulled back as though there is/was no foreskin, I guess it would be a high cut, since the scar starts about 1" below the edge of the corona, which looks like where it would naturally start if I had not been circumcised. However, since I still have my frenulum (or at least part of it) and had enough skin to start tugging w/way back when w/o resorting to taping, I guess it was also loose. So, high and loose it is.

High and tight. My sick fuck of a doctor was nice enough to leave me with a really uneven cut; took way too much outer skin on my left side which gave me a really uneven scar. He was nice enough to cut around my frenulum though. Still have a nice delta, too.

I have a turkey neck from Hell because of it though. Never gonna circumcise my kids. It's not even debatable.

Low and tight. Maybe got left with 1cm of inner type mucosal skin. UK in the late 1940s. The 1/3 or so of my original frenulum (on the remaining inner type skin) got left.

Am I right that it seems that high & tight seems to be more common in North America, while low & tight is more common in Europe? I am not saying that this holds for everyone, but it seems to my impression.

Low and tight, with about 25% inner mucosal skin and 75% shaft skin. Not tight as a drum as to produce painful erections but definitely not loose.
Spain. Circumcision was not common in the mid-70's or, at least, I've known very few people so far who were circumcised.
From Madrid, Spain. Restoring with T-Tape, Manual, TLC & TLC-X since Jan 2014. Started as a CI-2, currently between CI-4 and CI-5 depending on the day.

Very low and loose, with fenulum intact. It has made restoration very easy. After just a few weeks my foreskin covers half of the glans.
