Retaining wrinkles

I cant always adjust all of the vertical wrinkles under my retaining cone. Sometimes im left with one or two wrinkles. What is the reason we try to smooth out as many of the wrinkles as possible?

The reason is for comfort and so as much skin as possible is under tension.

When this has got really awkward I have found that moving up a spacer size helps. Sometimes too much wrinkling might me not enough silicon to stretch the skin over, I think.
