  • Silicone Adhesive and other alternatives (UK)

    Hi everyone

Very new here. Starting off at CI-3 (soft) / CI-1 (erect).

I know I've had problems sourcing devices/accessories here in the UK so just thought I'd share my experiences.

I needed something that would work with my tight circumcision and ended up with the Supercanister delivered from the States - seemed like it would suit me best and had no issues with the delivery.

Stupidly forgot to order any adhesive and wanted to minimise the amount of hassle and postage fees.

After lots of time searching, I ended up ordering Kryolan's Silicone Adhesive NEO Regular Bond - £16 for 50ml with a brush applicator, not bad I thought! Not quite medical grade like the Adhesi-med alternative but seems to be used widely on skin for professional make-up/effects.

I also got their adhesive remover.

It seems to work perfectly with the Supercanister. The tape itself is thankfully easy to find here too.

I first experimented with various lanyards for the actual tensioning but also ended up trying something else:-
Bed sheet fasteners with grippers - about a fiver for four, stretchy, adjustable and with clips that are nice and secure.

All this in combination with an old triathlon belt or a velcro ankle strap.. Seems to work great!

I think for now I prefer the waist position as I spend a lot of time seated, and the down the leg method doesn't seem to maintain tension very well.

    Pics attached as proof!

(I have no connection to any of the above companies, but thought I would share for those having similar difficulties in the UK)

    Cheers

Hello Matt. I am in the UK too. I began my restoration about 18 years ago and have achieved a more than adequate coverage. Like you I started with the canister method (35mm film canister) and tape with dress-makers' elastic for tension. When I began to use a bi-directional device I chose the CAT iiQ because although from USA it was available on eBay. I used it for years before developing a weight system and an inflation system using a Bb tuba mouthpiece, also off eBay. Looking at your pictures, you are a young man. I started when I was 58 and I think age slows progress. You might pick up some useful info from my blog https://foreskinrestoration.vbulleti...-s-restoration
    Best wishes, Woody

Thank you for the encouraging words, well done on your incredible progress. I haven't had a chance to look through your blog yet but I will do soon. I did have a look through your pictures and it was interesting to see all your different setups. Thanks for sharing
