I have a good remnant of frenulum and even some ridged band on one side. My circumcision took place in 1946 and was a "freehand" job judging by the uneveness of the cut. I have more surviving inner skin on my right (on the left as you look at my blog pictures). It never made any difference to the way I tug, except for the CAT IIQ deep pusher which comes notched and is a favourite piece of mt tugging equipment.

I got left with the distal 1/3 or so of the frenulum. The other 2/3 got thrown in the trash along with my foreskin near 70 years ago. It has made no difference in restoration. It has expanded somewhat along with the inner mucosal skin close by. It is far from the open end of my restored (CI 7 or 8) foreskin and does not help keep it forwards when flaccid.

It makes no difference. When I was buying a DTR I was worried I would need the notched version but everything worked out.

edit: guess I should specify that I said I still have most of mine.

and does it make restoring more difficult or easier? Or does it not matter at all?
