  • TLC-X and DTR

    Hello all,

I know that there's been a couple of posts already about this exact topic. However, I wanted to get some further opinions from you all on this.

Essentially, I've been using the TLC-X for almost three months now. I have already noticed results, and it has been making me happier and happier. My glans is more rejuvenated now. Even my partner mentioned to me that she felt like the front of my glans was more rounded and curved. It felt more full like it hasn't been for a long long time. Progress is good so far.

However, I've been recently trying to think it over whether I want to stick with the TLC-X or switch over to the DTR. My only problem with the TLC-X is that sometimes it has a hard time staying on. I realize that there are different methods like pinning it to your underwear (which frankly freaks me out a bit) or other ideas too. I've been trying different strategies, and different things have been working for me. For example, I figured out that if the paper towels that you are using to wipe the device off are too cheap (they fall apart easily), you'll get flakes of it on the retaining cone and then it will slip off easier. This also applies to different soaps. I found that using dishwashing soaps are far better overall for getting it to grip to your skin. I love the flexibility of the device, I just want to make sure that I have the full potential of what I can have. In the end, it was just striking to me how many people were recommending the DTR.

I hope it doesn't sound bad of me, but I was potentially thinking about returning my TLC-X and using that money instead to buy a DTR. Being a college student, I don't think I could afford to own both devices for some months at least. I can't decide what to do though. Any recommendations would be massively appreciated.

I know that either way, the best device for you is the one that you can stick with. I definitely have been able to stick with the TLC-X, but I wonder if I should check out the DTR anyway. I'd love to be able to exercise and move around and not have to worry about whether the device will fall off or not. My movements tend to be a little restrained if I get a little active or sweaty.

Also, are there any pictures of results anywhere on the net in relating to the TLC-X and DTR (besides the DTR website and the TLC-X website)? If I understand correctly, the old forum had a whole room dedicated to results, but it is all gone now as far as I know. Also, I may stick with the TLC-X because of its apparent help with making a more pucker-like tip of the penis. However, nobody seems to know if this is actually the case.

Thank you all again. Have a great day/night.

I have never used the DTR, but what has always put me off from it is the lack of sizing (there is one size it is sold in - the one that fit the creator's pretty well-endowed penis) and the fact that it is almost all hard nylon, including the pusher. If you look at the restoring foreskin forums, reports of people having pressure-type ulcerations(?) from the DTR's pusher is not entirely uncommon. I attribute that to the hard nylon pusher and the fact that I think the DTR is simply too large for quite a few men. That said, many men swear by it. There's no way to tell if it would grip you better though without trying it. I would only explicitly not recommend it if you are on the more modestly endowed side - the device is simply built for a "show-er."

To be honest, it sounds like the DTR may fit me pretty well then. I would say I'm pretty well endowed, and so maybe a bigger size would be more comfortable anyway. However, I do like the customization that Ron's TLC-X offers. My TLC-X fits me pretty well, and I haven't experienced any kind of pressure-type ulcerations. Thank god. Also, I found it to be far more flexible and offering more options in terms of tugging. Thank you for your input.

Just curious, do you use the TLC-X with a strap and outer tension, or just for its bi-directional functionality? I find that with a strap and outer tension the device stays in place MUCH easier.

I have both. The TLC-X is MUCH MUCH more comfortable.

I do not use the strap. I only wear the TLC-X as is. I thought about using a strap, but I wasn't sure how tough that would be to implement into my regimen. Plus I don't want to be uncomfortable. I may look into it. Thank you.

Oh yeah? Well maybe I should stick with the TLC-X then. Comfort is my priority in some ways. If I can't wear it and feel good while wearing it, I'm just going to be miserable. Thank you for your input.

You can improve the grippiness a few ways. I've never needed the first two below:

                A) add AdhesiMed light-tack silicone adhesive http://tlctugger.com/product/adhesimed/
                B) clamp the retaining cone against the skin by adding a Cuff and spacer cones http://tlctugger.com/?s=cfh&post_type=product
                C) wear looser pants, and boxers or Tug N Wear http://tlctugger.com/product/tug-n-w...toration-jock/

For best grip always start with a freshly washed device and skin, roll skin up to cover as much of the tugger body as you can, and apply gentle tension.

If using only the pusher for tension, you need to be more aggressive than other guys when rolling the outer skin up onto the device (if you want good tension in all of your skin tube). If that action has your skin going well past the tip of the tugger body you should probably add TLC Selects to lengthen the device.

It's worth noting, though. That the DTR virtually will not fall off for any reason. The TLC, due to the large "edge" on the retaining cone, will fall off for virtually every reason. I find it's very dangerous to wear the TLC in public without the safey strap which saves it from falling on the ground. Tugger has the same issue. Both require very baggy clothes and boxers to wear effectively (or the crotchless briefs I use -- see my gallery).

To me, the DTR is far more comfortable than the TLC because it lacks the aggressive taper that caused bunching for me. The posts above prove how individual this sort of thing is! The DTR is indeed hard nylon, but it's also highly contoured, so it won't dig in. I use the DTR in strapless mode with a size 32 rubber band that I change daily.

In six months my DTR has never fallen off, so I don't have to restrict my movement. I rarely had issues with my TLC-X falling off, either, but I had to keep tension on the strap and use the Tug-n-Wear as backup. Kneeling was off-limits while wearing it because it would always come off. During a normal day at the office it wasn't an issue. I don't use the Tug-n-Wear nearly as often with the DTR.

Given how much time this takes, I suggest buying the DTR and comparing it. They're one size, so it should be possible to sell it to another member if you don't like it.

                    Here's a size comparison of the two devices with the longest rods installed. {mod: TLC Tugger offers rods for the TLC-X up to 11"}

I would also just reccomend owning both.

I own TLC, TLC X, and DTR and use them all on different occasions.

I only have the tlc x and I do maintenance work. It will fall off in certain movements but you kind of learn. I wear tight boxer briefs. If it falls off its caught.

Thanks for this information! It seems like it's worth just owning both at some point huh? I'll have to save up for it. Thanks again for you input!

I use both as I like the variety. Air too.
