Ik vroeg me af of hier ook Nederlanders zijn die aan het herstellen zijn? Ik ken sowieso weinig mensen die besneden zijn, laat staan dat ze hun voorhuid aan het herstellen zijn.

that at sounds like a nice idea! I’d include Belgium too as around 60% are Dutch speaking too, and for the French speaking part I wouldn’t mind getting in touch too, although my French is far from perfect. I’m just replying in English as I’m assuming you used some translation service for your post ;-)

Some have contacted me based on my nick name, but I’m really curious if there are many people in Belgium/Holland into restoring, also because I’m considering to write about it on my website, so I’m curious if there’s much of interest on the subject

Hello All! I'm restoring in The Netherlands....and I feel so alone!! Here's my story.

I was born in Canada in 1973. Of course I have no foreskin. Fuck...my father is not cut!! I moved to Amsterdam 14 years ago. I was immediately surrounded by uncut men. After sexual contact with Dutch men the conversation almost always went like this....are you Jewish....are you Muslim? My answer...no I was born in Canada and was born into an Anglican family....this answer was always met with shock and disbelief....and a bit of pity. This made me realize that...although happy with my penis....there was something wrong. I discovered foreskin restoration. I started this 11 years ago....but did not keep it up. Now that I am 45 I am starting to feel the real effects of being cut. In the last 5 years I have noticed an extreme loss of sensitivity. This is frightening. 1 month ago I started the restoration process again. I use a retainer all day at work and use the DTR device at home in the evenings. Already...after one month I have already noticed a return of sensitivity. So I am without a doubt...going to be uncut before I turn 50.

Yes, my English fluent as well. It is exciting to hear that you are writing a e-book to stop circumcision in Belgium. Will it be in Dutch or French or English? I started two years ago but I stoped for a long time. I just picked it up again yesterday, that's why I created an account of this forum.

Dutch and English for now. I can understand French and also get by in terms of speaking, but for writing on this subject I’m not fluent enough. I’m also planning to launch a petition to ask for a ban in parliament and for that I’ll definitely make sure there’s a French and German version of the text as well. Curious how many people would sign such a petition, but if there are enough to put it on the political agenda then I’d call it a major success. I’m expecting our politicians to not change anything, but at least I want to try to do what’s within my power.

I don't think there will be a lot of Belgian signing for it because they are kind of uninformed of the harm of circumcision. I met some Belgian guys who are also circumcised but they are fine with that.

That’s exactly why I’m publishing a book, to make people think about it and to make them aware of how more and more people are speaking out against it. In fact, if this book could just convince some parents that consider circumcising their sons it would also be important for me. I’m hoping at least to get the debate going. Right now, 1 in 3 boys that are born in Belgium are being circumcised because of parental request, the majority for religious reasons. Even if the procedure is not banned, at least they should stop doing it at the expense of tax payers.
