The Red Pill is a recent documentary where a feminist (director Cassie Jaye TheRedPillMovie.com) spent a year learning about the Men's Rights Activism movement. I've never considered myself an MRA, preferring to focus on specific issues that need fixing rather than on a victim set seeking what sometimes seems like vengeance.
But I'm keeping an open mind and I've agreed to speak on the panel after this screening along with intactivist Seth Anderson and an MRA rep. I hope you can join us. Intactivist attorney J. Steven Svoboda appears briefly in the film so I know it touches on infants' genital autonomy rights. One has to wonder whether tapping into masses of MRAs would amplify or detract from the intactivist message.
It's a TUGG event. In case you don't know what that is, it's like a crowdsourcing model for booking a screening. The Tugg web site connects an event organizer with a willing venue. IF and ONLY IF enough tickets are booked online by the deadline (ours was Nov 28th) does the event actually happen. If it's called off you get a notification and you're out no money. Beyond a certain threshold attendance level some money is left over for the organizer or his/her cause. Sorry Tugg has nothing to do with tugging. Normally tickets are sold through the Tugg site, but ours have been reserved by a generous donor, so...
Email [email protected] and Darren will set you up with tickets.
