2 pressing reasons males still get circumcised right? religion and ignorance? A law that gives a circumcised boy/man protection from having future boys/men circumcised by punishing the offender(s) is whats needed! If religious people really need to be circumcised and they are so sure its the right decision then a law that only comes into action when/if the boy/man complains about what has been done to them would work. A simple law that even after its passed wouldn't prevent circumcision but would hand out a serious penalty to the offender(s) should the boy/man complain. So basically upto 18(+5 more so 23) years of age the parents and or circumciser are at the mercy of the boy/man who was circumcised. This would give both religious people and the ignorant folks a chance to consider what they are really doing. Penalty would include fines and multi year prison sentences! Can hope I guess eh?

Indeed two-thirds of the circumcised males on earth are Muslims who are cut in supposed adherence to Islam (even though the Qur'an says not one word about genital cutting for either gender). However it is quite common for that cut to occur at an age where force is not required (just unethical coercion). But in the US where I am, religioous circumcisions are less 5%.

There are laws that could help the situation that wouldn't even need to mention genital cutting at all. For example, we could draw a bright line about using "medical waste" only with full disclosure to the "donor's" family or whatever about any financial arrangements for handling and transfer. That would be an easy law to pass since there have been outrageous abuses with regard to whole limbs being trafficked to for-profit medical training companies. Once it's passed we get a test case going that presses the issue for amputated genital tissue. The disclosure would help a lot of people say no to infant cutting. People saying no would reduce the hospital and doctor's profit motive.

State of the union address is coming up tonight I wonder what would happen if someone had sent an email to the pres... Be nice if we had a choice and knew it wasn't one where we had to accept a decision forced on us or a decision we were compelled to say "yes" to without someway of defending ourselves even if we had to wait until we were old enough to complain (IE the 18 years old rule). Personally I think we have grown enough that this law would only be a "half measure" and circumcision shouldn't be allowed at all but a law like I suggest would eventually knock this nasty ritual out of existence IMO. Can't be any exceptions or else the law is broken and I will add that non-religious reasons (IE no proof of being jew/muslim) will not be accepted as a reason to circumcise (if someone is faking religion its an automatic penalty in addition to what could happen after the victim turns 18). Being religious won't be an excuse if the victim complains it just prevents a circumcision from happening in the first place.

Also would need to address "medically necessary circumcisions". From what I have read using a circumcision as a fix has only been accepted because of how wide spread this nasty ritual has been in the past. The people who could get fixed by this are few and far between and there are other ways of dealing with those problems so that amputation is not necessary. So a ban on ritual circumcision would also need to ban circumcisions stated as "necessary" but for other reasons.

On a side note one of the contested (not proven) reasons for circumcision is the reduced transmission of STIs. A way to share medical records that "proves" someone doesn't have an STD would be awesome. People could show potential partners when they had a test and what the results were. I actually think being tagged the way we tag our pets could be good for something like this as it would help prevent fraud for this STD tracker system as well as other system like credit cards or property ownership (we would get chipped and be required to be present before these "systems" could be used). I also think it should be compulsory that medical tests be thorough and the results have to be visible when someone chooses to share their STD information. Be nice if they were cheap!

FYI the information I have read suggests that in early findings and in other nations circumcisions have reduced the transmission of HIV by almost half but its half a tiny percentage of like 1.2% (it was small I don't recall the exact amount). Later findings in those same areas have shown that HIV infections and "non standard sex" have both doubled when compared to the HIV infection numbers before circumcisions were being done to the men. Circumcision causes gay sex?

How this became common practice in the West from being spread from the middle east (Both troublesome religions) is a great example on how a society can be misled (Brain washed) into believing this medieval tribal sadistic abhorrent ritual became "accepted" is just something that warrants further review by society and the legal system as an abuse of human rites and freedoms.

If circumcision male and female was invented today - I would find it hard to imagine that this would be accepted at all by both society / law makers and for those deeply religious.

Actually, there are laws. Unfortunately, when it comes to MGM ... they are simply ignored, probably because MGM is understood to be mandated by certain religions (not true), and probably because of pressure from members of the medical profession. The law passed by Congress and signed by the President outlawing the Genital Mutilation of underage girls should also apply to infant and adolescent boys by the equal protection clause of the Fourteenth Amendment to the United States Constitution.

Also, every law prohibiting violence against children should be enough to cover nearly every single case of MGM. Several years ago, when I was on a County Grand Jury in Phoenix, a majority of the jurors sent to trial a man who had put his hand on the clothed thigh of an adolescent boy, during an innocent card game. I don't know what happened to him, but had the man taken a knife to the boy's foreskin during that card game he would by now probably be on death row.

This is a very good community service & advice thing you do, the protests - also gets the general public to take a second look, think and possibly question it for research.
Let’s hope more people will work it out for themselves and sadly most of public do not get to view the actual total inhumane process themselves the end results post op, weeks later and the defects /side effects in adulthood. Once educated it doesn't take much to realize the pro cutting movement is all plain lies.
Not all of us are fortunate to have normal whole males to talk to discover we have been sold a fraud with many problems / complications actually caused directly by circumcision when done as an infant or later otherwise.
It's simply not normal to remove 50-80% of something and expect everything to be ok (When in fact it was spot as designed and ok in the first place).

Sadly a good example how far doctors will go for a $ and destroy a person’s face for life for example is to look at Hollywood celebrates as a reminder for those reading this, Doctors / Medical profession are like any profession - both good and terrible bad ones who will do anything (read unnecessary and by any cheapest way possible with little or no pain relief) to anyone for a buck. To do this incredible worthless procedure properly it would cost too much and involve proper surgery theatre time, so we know 99.999% have / are being done inhumanely with massive pain that causes shudders in infants or just shocks them they are virtually seized and for those that think local pain relief injections for infants (think again most haven’t a clue how to do remotely properly and it carries its own risks and potential damage.
Best is to leave things totally alone as Nature & God intended in the first place!

The people that favor it have too much money, influence, and power. Even if the rate of genital mutilation was to drop sharply that wouldn't be good enough to get it illegal. In the UK for instance it's like 5-15% but if you want it done to your kid there the law isn't going to stop you or the person you have cut him. Actually, Peter Adler of arclaw, is working on a paper that will become the framework for a case before the supreme court in which he absolutely destroys ALL arguments for
boys not being protected under the law, specifically the 14th amendment. When the time is right he wil "unleash hell" on the circumcision industry and there will be absolutely nothing they can do to counter any of the arguments he presents.
