A Retainer That Works Really Well at Low Cost.

The first photo is showing the retaining device in place. I wear this retainer to bed now. You can pee through it without it falling off. I would be wearing it during the day but found out a few weeks back that I have enough foreskin that, in my form fitting micro fiber underwear, my glans stay covered without a retainer.

This is how I figured this method out. My boss calls me squirrel bladder. I spend anywhere from 4 to 8 hours driving. I was stopping on the way to customers several times to pee. I finally worked out a solution. I now purchase devices known as a condom catheter and pee into a 32oz pouch made for the purpose strapped to my leg.

I thought my pecker was worthy of the large size catheter so my first purchases were of the 32mm size. The first photo is a retainer made from this size catheter shown in photo 2. There are a number of sizes of catheter as seen in photo 3. I show this so that, if you are thinking of purchasing some to give it a go, you have options. It turns out that 32mm was way too big for me when used as a catheter but just the right size when used to retain my foreskin. When I use a catheter for work, I use the 25mm size. It fits snugly and I get no leaks like I did with the larger sizes.

To make a retainer out of a catheter it needs to be cut in two places as shown in photo 4. Photo 5 is what the condom catheter looks like when taken out of the package.

The next step is to unroll the condom being mindful that the interior is coated with REALLY STICKY adhesive shown in photo 1 unrolled. It will then need to be flattened as shown in photo 2 being careful that it is not crooked because the adhesive needs to be cut off and if the fold is uneven, you won't be able to cut close enough the the adhesive. The next 3 photos shows the first cut (3) and how it looks after (4) the second cut (5)

and how it looks after the second cut (1). Photo 2 shows the side view and photo 3 shows the top view of the completed retainer. Once complete it can be used to retain your foreskin over your glans as shown in the first post above.

Now a word about putting the flimsy device on. To put it on I force the glans to the back of the tube of skin. I then roll as much skin inside as I can and still able to make the skin round for applying the retainer. I put the retainer on the index finger of the opposite hand and bring the retainer so that it circles the skin. I then allow the skin to come back out of where I forced it into and it basically fills the retainer. Don't be discouraged, it took me a while to perfect this process. I still have to try more than once making adjustments of course. The edge of the retainer may not lie flat. I pinch the edge with the index finger and thumb of one hand while I push down on the skin under the pinched retainer which frees up the retainer from the skin and the edge of the retainer will straighten out. I am really good at doing this now. I have made several retainers now and I use dish washing liquid to wash the oils off after they are used.

I do not take the retainer off to pee. The really nice part of retaining this way is that there is inner skin against the glans and the glans stay looking very healthy.

I appreciate that Greg. I couldn't not share this one because it has been working so well for me. I hope others find it useful. The main benefits to this are:
once put on you forget it is there
it stays on in bed and in underwear
it keeps inner skin up against the glans
you can pee through it and it isn't dislodged
the smaller hole is big enough and the material is stretchy enough that with too little foreskin, the glans will push through the hole but most likely wake you up. I purposefully pulled the device back to force my glans through the small opening and it works. I would recommend trying this if anyone plans to use it. It is like the escape valve for erections that most surely will occur multiple times per night of sleep.

This is fantastic! I've continued to struggle with "grip" using any retainers so far, especially in the water (I'm in the pool and river a lot). I never thought of or heard anyone mention these catheters before. Just got a 36mm version in the mail today and put it on a little different than you did but just ordered more to experiment with and it is still in place! No slipping or popping off.

I have been having the same results. I use dish soap to clean them. They grip, even stick, when washed.

I would like to know how "stretchy" these things are, and do they tear easily? They look much thicker than a regular condom.

I'm planning to order some of these too. But if they are not small enough when I'm flaccid they may slip off.

I plan on trying to remove the adhesive with a solvent so that the neck can be used to keep the device from slipping off.

If you get the right size you won't have to strip the adhesive off. I tried that and was not successful. I bought sizes that were larger than I would have thought would fit. It is not loose but not snug either. If it is clean and your skin is clean it will stick to your skin. They are durable. I am still using all of the ones that I made some time ago.

Ha, I just noticed the admin comment on my post. He is absolutely right. I completely forgot that catheters can be purchased without adhesive. In fact, I once ordered some without adhesive and couldn't get it to work for me as a catheter. Well, that certainly was an example of old fart absent mindedness 🤣.

They come rolled up like a condom. Once you onroll it, it is hard to roll it back up again let alone wash it and reuse it. Since I regularly use them I have found that cutting them right before the adhesive leaves plenty of plastic for the catheter to stay put when using it as a retainer.

Of note here is that when I wear a catheter for work because I drive 2 to 4 hours a day and pee like a racehorse I use Bard Ultra Flex 25mm small condom catheters. To make my retainers I use 32mm. The 25mm insures no leaks and are snug. The 32mm that I use for retaining fit my shaft perfectly. It stays on for the same reason that the my skincone stays on. When you pull the foreskin over your glans, the skin wants to snap back. This snap back force is what keeps the skincone in place. My problem with the skincone is that anything that comes in contact with the wide edge would trip it off of my foreskin. The shape of the catheter is held in place by the same force as with the skincone except the catheter has about ⅜" of material that is straight in line with the shaft instead of cone shaped so there is no edge to trip a release. It always stays on all night. And believe me, I have been using these as a retainer for a very long time.
