Static, Text only version (old site "Mobile" version)

I know the old set up had a feature labeled 'mobile' seemed to be plain HTML (from a time when our devices were less powerful). I'm not sure how often it was used but I found it useful for times when I just wanted to get caught up, just to look something up quickly, not on broadband, on a mobile device or times where I wanted a more discreet way of viewing threads. It also seemed to be more stable if something was affecting the main site didn't seem to affect it.

The main benefit with it being plain HTML, it rendered beautifully no matter the platform. I don't know if it could be implemented, or if it were if it would be used.

Which mobile devices have folks tried us with?

I'm using a Nexus 7 (Android Tablet) initially pages look a little jumbled for a split second then everything reflows and looks fairly good. Rich Text Editing is possible but a bit cumbersome.
