Fewer e-mail notifications

I've added as to-do item for posting an explanation of how to get the forum to send fewer notifications.

We've always used the once-daily thread subscription default. By the time someone sees that a reply has come in, it's already a day later. As you've seen, users can change it. They can also unsubscribe from nuisance topics. I'm OK with leaving it, and thanks!

I looked at the defaults for e-mail notifications and it seemed to be defaulting to send members lots of forum notifications every day, subscribing them to threads, etc. I would suggest setting the default notifications at a somewhat lower pace or intensity (maybe weekly updates?).
