  • TLC-X Spring/Rubber band tension levels

    Ron,

In the TLC-X spring video on the TLC Tugger web site, you reference that you think 1/3 to 1/2 pound is plenty of spring tension to be applied with the pusher. Other than being a comfortable amount of tension (and it certainly is, at least in my experience), I'm just curious where that recommendation came from? I google searched the old forum while it was still somewhat accessible in the google cache, but didn't really find an answer.

It so sucks that GoDaddy strung us along long enough for caching to mostly lapse, but anyway the recommendation comes from my experience with typical tugging guys.

The amount of force you should be using depends on penile girth, skin thickness, intended wear duration, available slack, and maybe other things, so no one answer works for all restorers. That's why we say use the 4-Hour Rule http://tlctugger.com/4-hour-rule/ for fine-tuning the tension with ANY method. The problem is that for springs it's very hard to apply the device reproducibly to follow the 4-Hour Rule protocol. That's why springs are an advanced option.
