  • Received my TLC Tugger in the Mail Today :)

Love it so far!! Now I have some questions as to how should I should wash the main body and the retaining cone?

I'm worried about the wear and tear! And also, should I air-dry or pat dry the main body and retaining cone?

Wipe the tugger body down with isopropyl alcohol and pat it dry with a paper towel. For the retaining cone, you can do the same, but hot water and a dab of dish soap works great at degreasing it. Here's a tip: try putting a very small dab of eucerin lotion on the pusher and spread it around. This will make the pusher a lot more comfortable. Just make sure you don't use too much. A very light coating is all you need.

I use dish soap (detergent) without any moisturizing additives and my hands to clean my devices every day I wear them. Silicone will not accumulate wear from doing that - I have been washing all that parts of mine for 5 months every single day and it still looks the same as it did new. You may need to clean the retaining cone more than once a day because they can get slippery with body oils and won't hold the skin as well.

Congratulations. I got mine a few weeks ago and found it fiddly and uncomfortable at first. If you find it the same do persevere.

Thanks for the tips, I will look up eucerin lotion.

The skin was too inflexible at first and I couldn't figure out how to wrap pull it over the pusher. I would find it would get stingy after a few hours but that seems to have stopped.

I wash my tugger and cone in the shower with a soft toothbrush and plain soap. Avoid soaps that claim to have moisturizing, like Dove. Blow out any holes and pat dry promptly with lint-free cloth or paper toweling.

When I'm out and need to re-apply, I take a wet paper towel into a toilet stall and use it to wipe my device and skin for a good grip for the rest of the day.

Dish soap and hot water is the best. You want it squeaky clean, literally. Isopropyl alcohol is a good thing too.

I wash mine just with hot water in the shower. If necessary, I use a little of plain soap.
After several months of use, if the retainer silicone becomes greasy (as if it had an oily layer), I need to wash it with a drop of dish soap and ready!. But being your device brand new, I guess you won't have this issue for now.
Curiously, the white silicone tugger body doesn't get oily with time, at least in my case.
Regarding wear and tear, I'm still using the TLC-X I bough one year ago, daily, and it hasn't shown any sign of ageing so far. I expect it to last for a few years more.
