  • O-Rings and TLC

Lately, I have been experimenting with using an O-ring with the TLC Tugger to keep the skin over the tugger, rather than the Your Skin Cone.
    Anyone else try this?
I have been told that the skin under the YSCone is not itself under tension, which is what an FR wants.
With the O-ring, I am able to put it very high on the TLC, so very little skin is covered by anything, and, in theory more skin should be under tension.
    Am I correct about this?

Yes you are, but using an O-ring puts an awful load in one narrow spot and I don't see how it would stay on that way. Using an O-ring that way seems a lot like a plasti-bell. Don't mistakenly circumcise yourself! Lol.

I prefer to use a retaining cone and thereby spread out the gripping force so higher tension levels can be used before the stress on the skin gets excessive. The gripped skin CAN experience some tension if you let some skin slip out at the wide end after applying the retaining cone.

parsecskin: Thanks for the post. This issue of O-rings cutting into the skin was discussed on Tally's board. I'm not a fool, and since I did get some irritation from the O-ring, I reduced my time wearing it, and had less if any irritation.

In the discussion on Tally's, some experienced O-ring users said using an O-ring of 1/8 thickness eliminated the problem of the O-Ring cutting into the skin.

Ron, thanks for the post. I have resolved to, and am, keeping my glans covered with a retaining tape ring, 24/7, regardless of how much time I have to do actual tugging. And, I plan to keep this up.

I found just the right sized o-ring to use with the TLC, and it has not irritated my skin.

This morning, for the very first time, I did jogging with my TLC, o-ring, and a glass Kraken Rum minibottle filled with water, suspended from the TLC tugginig handle, by a key chain, for some weight, in place.

My jogging lasted 20 mins, and when I fnished, everyting was in place, including the retaining tape ring that I stuck the TLC into.

Did the same thing today, jogging with the smallest TLC tugger inside my retained with 1/4 inch tape ring fauxskin, and an o-ring instead of the YSCone to hold it in place, and the rum mini bottle for weight. No problems at all, and everything was still in place after jogging.

Yesterday and today, I used the 1/8 inch thick o-ring, but used a smaller diameter one, for a tighter fit onto the YSC, and got some redness and soreness, after taking it off, as I had been getting with the smaller thickness o-ring.
