  • ComforTug damage?

So I have been using TLC X with the strap 12 hours a day for about 10 days noticing some damage on it in which you can see the photos below. Is this normal as I only use 8-12 oz of tension measured accurately........Well I can still use them like normal but I am afraid it may deteriorate in the near future.

I want some opinions on other users about the straps and some suggestions to take care of them.

    Thx in advance.

I'd email Ron. The elastic strands look like they are breaking too quickly (esp. for 10 days of tugging!) and he does offer 3 month warranties on the straps. I have had luck tugging with the "doubled over" elastic edge. instead of this part, but I'm using the extra long straps too.

mjwise, Do you think the longer straps are better? I know they are a dollar plus, but wont it be a fuss circling 1 more time for knee application and wont it bite on the knee part? I wear knee socks btw.

When you mean tugging with the double edge you mean the reverse on what Ron recommends right?

Yeah I use the longer straps sort of backwards from what Ron shows in his videos. I am still on my first strap with ~5 strap tugging hours per day over the last 8 months. The part of the strap you are having trouble with wraps around my knee twice and snaps onto the knee brace.

Thats a gr8 idea btw to keeps straps last. I'll get the longer straps instead and email Ron on what are my options.

          Thx mjwise!

I have some updates on using the double edge....It's pretty challenging to maintain similar tension when changing positions (sitting, standing and walking). I'm still at it though.

Thanks for pointing out that failing strap. We had some come unsewn early on with this sewing firm so we told them to "triple sew" everything. I think it's causing the elastic to get torn sometimes. We'll revisit what they can do going forward, but such a strap will be replaced under warranty.
