  • How effective is the TLC X elastic band setup?

I always heard about the tlc x when used with the elastic bands are not that effective. Even by Ron himself said "there is no free lunch". I have a tlc x and going without the straps would be super convinient. I am a CI 7, I can use use this setting with no constraints.

The dtr in the other hand dont need any straps, also the name itself(dual tension restorer) says it's very main fuction. So I cant see what differenciate this with the tlc x?

So has anybody had success with using the elastic band setup in tlc x or the spring without the strap?

    Thx in advance.

I have both devices. The DTR has heavier rubber bands. You can always get heavier rubber bands for the TLC X. I personally don't use the rubber bands. Makes the device too long.

"No free lunch" refers to the fact that ANY method that doesn't use external tension sources (straps, weights, traction) depends on your own dexterity to get tension in the outer-facing skin. Pushers and air applied after the skin has been gripped by a retainer mainly tension the inner-facing skin. This is why I recommend weights, straps, or traction even with bi-directional or air devices.

It's one thing to admit that your skill is more important during strapless/weightless application, and that you'll perhaps wind up re-applying more often or dealing with more discomfort. A separate issue is that since you're forced to work harder during application if you want good outer-facing skin tension, it also means that you're forcing your skin up to be gripped at a point along your skin tube which you did not choose. The gripping spot is determined by the device length. So if you have in mind to always target a certain zone of skin to be gripped at the skinniest part of the device, the ONLY system that gives you the control to do so is the TLC Selects, when used with TLC-X, TLC-X Air, VLC-X, or TLC Packer/Stacker. TLC Selects spacer disks let you fine-tune the device length in 3mm increments so you can choose which spot of your skin falls comfortably at the skinny part of the device.

So you (Ron) may suggest using TLC spacers to fine tune the TLC X in order for the circ scar to be nearest to the skinniest part of the TLC X body? Right?

Also I was wonder if I should aim for the circ scar to be on the end of the foreskin or somewhat between the outer and inner foreskin?

What was your approach on the circ scar position?

Yeah perhaps the springs are better. I have not tried it yet though.

No, I would not do that. I would hope to create a result where the scar is worn facing in a bit while hanging flaccid.

            1) The scar has damaged dartos fascia so it may not pucker the best

            2) Scars are something I don't want to look at.

            3) I certainly don't want any surviving inner skin facing out or even at the tip to be subjected to drying and abrasion.
            {edit: adding these two:
            4) The scar location is something we didn't choose. Some butcher chose it.

            5) As generalizable practice, it would be problematic putting the scar at the end because some guys have almost no surviving inner skin, and many guys have a jagged irregular non-circular scar line.}

My own approach was casual. I happened to find a longer device more comfortable midway through my restoration, I started using a device sized between the Stretch 8 http://tlctugger.com/product/tlc-stretch-8-tugger-body/ and the Stretch 16 http://tlctugger.com/product/tlc-str...6-tugger-body/

I did 5 years of restoring before there was a TLC-X or TLC Selects, so my ideas about device length are theoretical, not from personal observation.

How is your scar btw? Does it look more better after restoring?

I'm trying to improve my unpleasant scar. When I'm flaccid it's hidden but I don't like that dark lined color.......

I've uploaded photos below of my penis for reference.

Personally I aim to keep my circ scar a 1/4" inside the roll over when tugging, I try to keep it Close to the end but not on the end our facing outward in any way for the reasons Ron said, I do not want inner skin to end up on the outside when flaccid to dry out and chafe. And not on the end either because there won't be a good chance if a nice pucker with the scar tissue.
