Hello gentlemen, I just signed up for this site as I am just starting my restoration and I wanted to give a quick introduction.
I am a 24 year old guy from Canada who was circumcised at birth for social reasons. Although I hate the fact that I am circumcised, I can't blame my parents too much because at the time this was presented to them as the best option with a new born child. One could argue that they should have done research, however given the fact that my father is also circumcised and has seemingly faced no issues with it, they likely figured that there were no negative side effects of circumcision and therefore opted for what seemed like a good idea at the time (it was likely presented to them that circumcision produces no loss of feeling and allows me to live a life where I won't need to focus on hygiene as much as an intact male, and also socially it was more acceptable at the time. Although I don't agree with any possible reasoning they were given, it was up to the medical community to give accurate information and this is something that they have failed us on.
I decided to start restoring for a couple of reasons but the biggest reason was because sex was just downright not enjoyable for me. Both oral and penetrative sex felt like nothing. I have yet to reach climax without assistance from myself every time. As you can imagine, this is humiliating for me to explain to new partners and even worse in the moment when you're trying to "finish" and simply can't. I attribute this to the fact that there isn't much feeling down there and was too sceptical to try any other methods to sensitize the glands. I've seen a few products out there but frankly they look like snake oil to me.
As for my restoration method, I decided to go with the DTR method as it seemed to be the most convenient for me. So far it has been a commitment, but I am still in the honeymoon phase of restoring to each day is exciting for me to use the device. If there is one thing I am lucky for, my circumcision was performed in a way that was fairly loose, so loose that sometimes I achieved coverage in a flaccid state (mostly after ejaculation or if I encountered shrinkage from cold water). I am hopeful that my restoration will be complete in 1 year or less, but I understand that I might not be as lucky.
