  • Another newcomer approaches!

I'm 41 and was circumcised at birth. I live in the USA in central Florida. I'm a C-1 or C-2. When I was about 19 I looked up online what circumcision was and hated everything I learned about it. Somehow I soon learned about restoration. The web sites back then were pretty minimal and I didn't know anybody locally who was restoring. I saw a doctor and asked about the downsides of circumcision and the upsides of foreskin restoration. His demeanor was pleasant and polite, but he thought circumcision was fine and saw no reason to restore. I haven't talked to any local doctor about it since. I did cross taping for a couple months then stopped.

I'm currently single and recently I decided I want to start looking for women, but before I do I want to try restoring so if I decide I like it and want to continue, if a woman tells me she doesn't like that I'm doing it I'll stand up for myself. To me it's important not just to know how to restore but that there's a community of people doing it. Knowing that other people are doing it will make me feel more confident to keep going. Right now I'm looking through all the introductory posts in this subforum. I feel great knowing that many people have come here.

It seems like restoration web sites have more and better-presented info about it than they did 20 years ago, and there are more vendors of tugging devices than there were 20 years ago.

I've heard about various methods, including tugging and devices. I haven't started anything yet. I've looked around tlctugger.com, restoringforeskin.org, and the foreskin restoration reddit. A few months ago I had a zoom chat with a nurse 160 miles from me who runs a restoration group. He encouraged me to start manually tugging. I'm not sure if I want to start that way or with a device, since manually tugging sounds like it takes a lot of time out of one's day. But if manual tugging works best, especially early on, I'll do it. What would you all recommend?

I work at a grocery store with a variable schedule. A lot of the time I might want to spend restoring I'll be at work. I've heard it's dangerous to wear a restoration device while walking around because falling forward onto it could harm the penis. People occasionally slip and fall at my work.

I'll ask more questions as I think of them. Once again, I'm very glad to be here!

    Welcome!
I find this site a great source of motivation - really helps me keep focus on my goals. Like you, I first learned about restoration 20+ years ago - before I had regular access to the internet and even when I did, information was sparse. Itโ€™s a whole different story now - lots of resources now.

when I began restoration I also worked on my feet. I had some success with a PUD and t-tapes. I think you just need to experiment with a method you find comfortable and you can prevent injuries ๐Ÿ˜€. I have found t-tapes pretty forgiving for that - weights and such, not so much (donโ€™t ask how I know ๐Ÿ˜€)

I'm able to help folks find local restorers and intactivists from among our 50,000+ clients: https://tlctugger.com/product/local-...ntact-request/

My doctor was the same. When I said I wanted to be more supple and sensitive, he told me: "Better stick with tough and leathery."

I don't know why we'd need to wait. The things we're conquering are part of our story for anyone we know or anyone we meet.

I made a crude demo of doing manual tugging WITH a device http://TLCTugger.com/manual-tugging-demo/ I'm thinking you'd need to put in at least 30 minutes a day altogether, but it can be time you weren't exactly productive anyway, like while waking up, while toileting, and while falling asleep.

You might hear reports like that, but I'm not so sure. I believe that in the first couple months we see "apparent" gains which are due to improved skin mobility. Actual skin growth is a stable and consistent phenomenon while we're tugging, up to 3mm per month in improvement to the forced erect reach http://TLCTugger.com/forced-erect-coverage/.

So maybe a lot of people start with manual tugging before they invest in a device or before it arrives, and they credit all that early mobility improvement to the manual tugging, and then they switch to a device and notice slower changes and blame that on device-based tugging. I got my mobility improvement while using the taped canister method. There's no technical reason why it should give superior growth - tension is tension - EXCEPT that with taping there's a perverse motivation to keep the tension on once the tape is applied, until the tape loosens.

That may have originated from my writings on tugging safety. Unlike other vendors I refuse to pretend my devices are "for novelty use only" so I try to spell out examples of why we need to be cautious. It's certainly something to bear in mind.

Do think about all the ways having something attached to your penis could change the outcome of otherwise innocuous events. But the threat is not just at work; it's while driving, and while walking outside (especially in winter), etc. I undertook restoration with full appreciation for these possibilities because my evaluation of the non-specific benefits far exceeded my assessment of the unlikely risks and drawbacks. 38,000 US folks die in car accidents annually, but most don't see that as reason to just hunker down at home.

Welcome! I started very similar to you, but an office job mostly. I began with cross taping for a few days, quickly switched to the pill bottle method, got a slight injury (skin tear) from excessive tension, then switched to a method I devised, using tape and an insert to apply the tension. Here it is if you are curious: greg_b-t-tape-strips-and-insert-llustrated.pdf (restoringforeskin.org)

I currently use inflation, which I find the most convenient method of all, but you need some skin to use. The method for inflation I use is a hybrid one using a blood pressure cuff bulb and a clown balloon. Happy to provide more info if you are curious.

It is not easy to recommend a method for someone else. As far as we can tell, all methods work, but some people do better with some methods than others. I, for example, have never gotten myself motivated to do manual, yet I can easily get motivated for taping and inflation. Now that I have enough skin and have tried inflation, it is hard for me to get motivated to do my previous method.

The things to think about for you are things like how much skin you have (in case that limits you to only some methods), your enjoyment of tinkering and figuring things out, whether you prefer "turn key" solutions, whether you like to be hands on and are willing to tug a lot, or whether you like to do lots of short sessions, multiple times a day, or whether you prefer fewer sessions at prescribed times.

Regarding safety and risk, I found restoring to be quite safe, I used to wear my tugger at work daily, and rarely had any trouble. When doing martial arts, swimming, or working in the field, I simply paused tugging for those times.

Manual tugging is an excellent method for those who like that approach. Nothing to buy, nothing laying around the house, you can easily be spontaneous, both with tugging and the rest of your life. It is well worth trying, and if you like it, stick with it to the end, many men have.

One last thing I will offer, is that long periods of tugging are not necessarily needed. While I started out trying to achieve 24/7/365, later I found that only 20 minutes, twice a day, 5 days a week was all that was needed. Just tug while eating breakfast and dinner, type of thing. Currently, I do an hour or so, once a day or so.

        Regards

I've started using manual method 2. I'm inconsistent about it and need to do it more often each day. I'm getting used to a new work shift so maybe that's still disorienting me a bit.

At what point would you recommend I wear a skin retainer or covering cone? After starting to use one of the stretch-forward manual methods? After starting to use a tugging device?

Its kind of up to you, I've seen it recommended to not bother retaining until near the "end" when you have some reliable coverage already, else you run the risk of dekeratinising and then being constantly uncomfortable whenever you aren't covered - which pretty much necessitates the use of the cone if you haven't got enough skin. On the other hand, though, you can reap all the benefits of being dekeratinised early.
I personally don't want to have to rely on the cone as an extra thing for as long as possible, so I'm putting it off.
